I spoke with an 83 year old lady today who lives in a six bedroom detached 17th century house (grade 2 listed). She was pleading with me to issue a grant that would help insulate this house and bring it in line with the governments’ carbon reduction initiative. She got louder and more aggressive as I listened to her and from pleading she was now demanding help.
I would have been right to have hung up there and then. I didn’t. I listened. I know people get frustrated when things aren’t going to plan.
Then she calmed down!
It turned out (once we’d been chatting a while) she wasn’t some old cantankerous woman at all, she later confided in me and said I put on a show in life as in this world ‘they’ walk all over you.
She was actually very sweet and I had to laugh when she told me of her Facebook account and that when she goes out to help her ‘older friends’ she always carries her mobile with her.
About the insulation … I have arranged with a surveyor to meet up with her and discuss what help we may be able give her.

It’s bad enough I lose track of the time but to lose track of the days, and get this, I had to check with my pills box as they have the days written on them just to make sure of the day it was.
Am I going mad or is this an age thing. Whatever, I won’t stop taking the pills.
The best craic is the iLipo machine.. an expensive way to dispose of tummy fat. I was sucked in once on that heh, and ended up losing not one inch! I reclaimed my money back, but ain't nothing that is going to give you a flat tummy other than diet and excerise.
